Like any modern dating story, it all started online. However, not only did they match once, but twice!

Both growing up in Richmond and attending rival Catholic schools - Sean at St. Paul’s and Francesca at St. Joseph the Worker, their lives were already running in parallel. Even though they both attended their respective Youth Ministries and became active young adults, their paths did not cross until August 2023… and then again a couple months later in October.

Although the first few messages never went anywhere, it was fate that brought them together a second time. Despite both having extremely busy schedules with school and work, they would text and FaceTime alllll the time.

As they eagerly waited for their first date, they found themselves free one afternoon and planned to “study” at the Blenz in Steveston. Although the studying quickly turned into lots of yapping, they both knew they didn’t want the day to end, so they grabbed dinner together - marking their first "unofficial" date. The next day, they went for their first date at Pho 37 and shared a banana split from Dairy Queen for dessert. From that point on, they were (and still are) inseparable.

A few weeks later, with a last minute pair of tickets, Sean asked Francesca to go to a Canucks game with him. After a great 6-2 win for the Canucks, Sean asked Francesca to be his girlfriend as they walked along False Creek. With luck clearly on Sean's side (a Canucks win and a yes from Francesca), they decided to go to Parq Casino to try their luck a third time.

Over the years, their relationship has grown through shared faith, values, and countless experiences together—from many meals at Matsuyama and heart-pounding Canucks games to cuddles with Toast and Micky and trying new cafés. Most evenings and weekends are spent eating out, watching hockey, or cozying up with a new thriller series. Sean and Francesca also love to travel, with Disneyland and Las Vegas being their most frequented places. They’ve also explored internationally with each other’s families, cruising to Mexico, and visiting the Philippines, Hong Kong, and Korea. Over the next few years, the two hope to explore Japan, Europe and eventually visit all six Disney resorts around the world (two down, four more to go!).

Their love story is just getting started and they cannot wait to fill it with more memories, laughter, and trips to their favourite places.
